1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a site you visit leaves in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage and session storage, can be used for the same purpose. This page explains how girisimcikafasi.com uses them.
For how your personal data is processed, see the privacy notice.
2. Cookies we use
Girişimci Kafası does not set its own cookies. We do not use cookies for measurement, advertising, profiling or tracking; there are no advertising networks or tracking pixels on the site. Fonts and scripts are served from our own server, and we do not send requests to outside services such as Google Fonts. That is also why you will not see a cookie consent banner on the site.
Three cases are exceptions, all described in detail below: Cloudflare's security check, the admin panel open to the team and third-party content on some pages.
Measurement works without cookies
We count which pages are read without using cookies, as daily totals, when the page request reaches the server. What is recorded is the day, the page address, the site or platform you came from, utm tags in the link, country and device type. Your IP address, full browser information and any identifier are not recorded, so the records cannot be used to follow you from page to page. Clicks on our short links and on some buttons are counted in aggregate in the same way.
3. Information we keep in your browser
To work, our site writes the small records below to your browser's storage. They are not cookies; none of them is sent to another site and none carries an identifier that identifies you. You can delete them in your browser settings.
gk-kaynak
- Type: Session storage.
- What it holds: The path of the first page you entered in your session, the domain of the site you came from and utm tags in the link.
- How long: Until you close the tab or the browser.
- Is it sent to the server: Only if you submit a form or subscribe to the newsletter or notifications: it arrives as a hidden field and is stored with your record to understand which channel the sign-up came from.
- Why: To understand which channels sign-ups come from.
gk-ilgi-son
- Type: Session storage.
- What it holds: The path of the last page we counted.
- How long: Until you close the tab.
- Is it sent to the server: No.
- Why: So that a page is not counted twice when you reload it.
gk-tutma
- Type: Local storage.
- What it holds: Whether you have subscribed to Kafa Notları and when you last closed the newsletter card that appears while reading. Your email address is not kept.
- How long: Until you clear your browser data.
- Is it sent to the server: No.
- Why: Not to ask subscribers again and not to show a card you closed for 14 days.
gk-ilgi
- Type: Local storage.
- What it holds: Counters showing how many times you have read pages on each topic: only the topic name, a number and the last day. The last 90 days and at most 20 topics.
- How long: Until you clear your browser data; records older than 90 days drop off automatically.
- Is it sent to the server: No.
- Why: To pre-select the topics you are interested in when you choose notification topics.
gk-push-konular
- Type: Local storage.
- What it holds: The topics you chose for browser notifications.
- How long: Until you turn off notifications.
- Is it sent to the server: When you save your choice, as part of your notification subscription.
- Why: To show your topic choice on your next visit.
Notification service worker
- Type: A small script registered in the browser, named sw.js.
- What it holds: It caches nothing. It only shows a browser notification when one arrives and opens the page when you click it.
- How long: Until you clear your browser data. It may stay registered after you turn off notifications, but it does nothing.
- Why: For browser notifications to work. It is registered only if you subscribe to notifications.
4. Third-party content and links
Some pages contain content from other sites. When this content loads, requests go to the servers of the company concerned, and that company may use its own cookies or similar technologies; these are subject to that company's policy.
- Facebook video: The video on the Türkiye Finans portfolio page does not load until you press the Play video button; no request goes to Facebook's servers when the page opens. When you press the button, Facebook's video player loads, requests go to Facebook's servers and Facebook may use its own cookies or similar technologies. If you do not want this, do not press the button, or watch the video directly on the Facebook page.
- YouTube cover images: The episode covers on the Yapay Zeka Kafası page load from YouTube's image server, at i.ytimg.com. When an image is requested, your IP address and browser information reach Google.
- External links: When you click links to sites such as Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts, that service's own policy applies.
5. Security and the admin panel
When Cloudflare checks a request to protect the site from malicious bot traffic, it may set its own security cookie. This cookie is used only for security and is necessary for the site to work.
The admin panel is open only to the team. Cloudflare Access sets a session cookie for anyone who opens the panel address and uses it for team sign-in. You will not receive this cookie while browsing the site unless you go to that address.
6. Managing your preferences
- Browser storage: Delete cookies and site data for this site in your browser settings. All the records above are deleted.
- Notification permission: Remove the Notifications permission in the site settings in the address bar, or turn notifications off with the Notifications on button on the site.
- Third-party cookies: You can block them in your browser's privacy settings. As we have no cookies of our own, this does not affect how the site works.
- Newsletter: You can end your subscription with the unsubscribe link at the end of every Kafa Notları email.
If we start using a new cookie or similar technology, we will update this page first and, where necessary, ask for your consent.
